Mining Engineer Steve Coughlan is a founding shareholder and Executive Chairman of the Byrnecut Group comprising a private suite of companies headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. These include Byrnecut Australia Pty Ltd, an underground mining contractor, and its associated entities and divisions – Byrnecut International, Jetcrete Oz, Murray Engineering, Raising Australia, Mining Plus, BOAB (Building Opportunities for Aboriginal Business), Quattro Project Engineering, Sano Health and Fuze composites. 

Byrnecut was established in Kalgoorlie in 1987. The consolidated group has developed steadily with current annual revenue exceeding AUD 2 billion. 

The group operates globally with capabilities including mine design and mine feasibility, long term mine development and production, shaft sinking, shotcreting, indigenous training, engineering design, mechanical and electrical engineering services, equipment hire and EPCM mine, civil and structural works and engineered composites for cold work repair.
