Mike Wundenberg has over 30 years of experience in mining and has held various leadership positions, working in different commodities, and living with his family in different locations across the globe. Mike has significant proven experience in delivering value.

He has been associated with Newmont since 1998 working at the Batu Hijau operation in Indonesia, followed by the Yanacocha operation in Peru and in the Australian region.

Mike worked for BHP on the Olympic Dam expansion project for two years with his last position as Manager, Mining prior to rejoining Newmont. Mike successfully introduced the Full Potential program globally in 2013 at Newmont and was appointed to lead the global Asset Management function in 2015. He provided oversight on digital work conducted in 2017 including internal and external benchmarking work, digital assessments and other advancements in innovation and technology and was appointed Vice President, Operational Technology and Innovation in 2018 to define and realize the value proposition of Newmont’s technology and digital strategy and roadmap. With the acquisition of Goldcorp, Mike once again led the Full Potential program in 2019 and continues to lead that in conjunction with the Operational Technology and Innovation functions at Newmont.

Mike is a board member of the Canada Mining Innovation Council (CMIC).
